Why we need high speed internet for rural area
Broadband Internet access is a must for communities, especially rural ones. Even if you live in a big city, you need to have high speed Internet to stay connected to the rest of the world. But, as more people move to rural areas, there are still no broadband options in the area. That is one of the biggest problems facing rural areas. Despite the challenges, broadband is essential for the development of small towns.
According to the FCC, 57 million Americans lived in rural areas with low broadband speeds. The FCC is looking to increase that number to 80 million by 2020. While many rural areas have broadband access, there are still some that don’t have it. In fact, only about one in eight of these areas has access to high speed internet. But thanks to modern technologies, this may change. While federal and local governments have promised rural areas the right to high-speed internet for years, they have not been able to deliver the service because of cost or technological restrictions.
To ensure adequate coverage, the FCC has published a broadband speed guide, which shows the speeds of rural areas. Although these numbers aren’t real internet speeds, they do show the average speed of internet connections for rural areas. In addition to the FCC report on rural broadband deployment, the Federal Communications Commission has published a report stating that by 2020, the vast majority of American households should have high-speed internet service.
Rural residents share similar concerns about high-speed internet. Twenty percent of those with low incomes say this is a major problem, while only twenty percent of those with higher incomes have access to high-speed internet. In Canada, only four percent of households have access to cable, while only one in six rural households have it. This lack of availability of high-speed broadband is a serious concern, as it’s costly for those who need to work from home.
While we need high-speed internet for rural areas, the lack of connectivity in rural areas is a major barrier. Most rural areas are not served by DSL. However, satellite-based services are an important part of rural internet access. They can be more affordable than traditional cable and other types of broadband. The only problem is that there are very few high-speed connections in most rural areas. The cost of installing cable in rural areas is often prohibitively high.
If you live in a rural area, you probably don’t have much of an option for high-speed Internet. Unfortunately, most of the rural areas do not have access to cable or DSL. You can choose between cable, DSL, satellite, mobile hotspots, and dial-up. But all of these options are not great. If you live in a remote area, it will be difficult to connect to the other available options.
